Bio

Jean-Louis Bleau is an arts administrator, conductor, and creative leader dedicated to shaping bold, inclusive cultural experiences.


Currently serving as the Executive Director of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre in British Columbia, Jean-Louis brings over two decades of experience in arts leadership, programming, and performance. His work bridges the administrative and the artistic, combining operational insight with a deep commitment to creative innovation.

As a conductor and artistic director, Jean-Louis has led numerous productions ranging from large-scale choral works to immersive and interdisciplinary performances. He is known for his imaginative vision, collaborative approach, and passion for creating performances that resonate with contemporary audiences. His programming has included everything from site-specific opera and Indigenous collaborations to cross-cultural showcases and experimental new works.

Under his leadership, the Chilliwack Cultural Centre has expanded its role as a community hub for performance, education, and engagement. Jean-Louis is a strong advocate for audience development and inclusion, spearheading initiatives that connect new patrons with the arts and support emerging talent.
