We are thrilled to welcome the extraordinary work of Arnie Leon from Mystic Eagle Carvings to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. His stunning Indigenous carvings are now on display in our lobby until June 30, continuing our commitment to celebrating Indigenous artistry and cultural traditions.

Arnie Leon is a gifted carver from the Sts’ailes First Nation, known for his deep connection to traditional Coast Salish art. His carvings are more than just visual works—they are living expressions of storytelling, spirituality, and cultural identity. Each piece carries the spirit and wisdom of his ancestors, reflecting a profound respect for the land and the teachings passed down through generations.

To celebrate Arnie Leon’s work, we invite the community to join us on March 19 at 6:30 PM for a special event in the Centre’s lobby. Arnie will share insights into his artistic journey, the meaning behind his carvings, and perform the Sacred Eagle Dance, a deeply significant cultural practice. This evening will be a unique opportunity to experience the intersection of art, tradition, and storytelling in a meaningful way.

Following our Salish Weaving exhibit, this installation is another step in deepening our connections with Indigenous artists and honoring the artistic traditions of the land we call home. We hope this space continues to serve as a platform for Indigenous voices, fostering understanding and appreciation for their incredible contributions to the arts.

We invite the community to visit the exhibit and experience the beauty and power of Arnie Leon’s work firsthand.
