Secondary Character - Something is Rotten July 26, 2025

Something truly wonderful wrapped up last weekend at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre — Something Rotten by Secondary Characters Theatre Company. And let me tell you, it was anything but rotten. In fact, it was a riot of laughter, brilliant performances, and sheer talent that reminded me why community theatre is so vital to the cultural heartbeat of Chilliwack.

As Executive Director, moments like these fuel my belief in the power of local stories and the incredible calibre of artists, technicians, and creatives in our own backyard. We’re incredibly fortunate to have a community where grassroots productions can flourish alongside professional presentations — often blurring the lines in the best possible way.

Supporting community theatre isn't just a part of what we do — it’s core to our mission. Productions like this showcase a plethora of talent that deserves to be seen, celebrated, and supported. To everyone involved — from the cast and crew to the volunteers and audiences — thank you for reminding us how vibrant and alive theatre can be when it’s built from the heart.

Let’s keep creating, supporting, and showing up for local theatre. The stage belongs to all of us.
